If you are someone who shoots using the RAW file format, which is the best format to shoot with by the way, well then you may have noticed that by their nature RAW files tend to be void of any eye-catching colour and can look rather flat and dull.
This is perfectly normal and by design. The RAW file format unlike instant JPEGs will not contain any processing adjustments or changes that were applied in-camera upon the creation of the file and this is the key to the success of the RAW format.
It allows the Photographer to make the decisions as to what needs adjusting as opposed to camera applying changes that it deems necessary.
This is true and very much the case with all RAW files but fear not because you can easily inject colour and life back into your RAW images using Adobe Lightroom.
After watching this video you will have the necessary knowledge and skills needed in order to:
- Change the Camera Calibration Profiles
- Make adjustments to the individual colour channels
- Use a Graduated Filter to selectively target an area and apply adjustments
- Use the Erase Brush in order to mask out some parts of the Graduated Filter
